He received Platinum and Gold albums for his work as bandleader/guitarist for the movieвЂ™s soundtrack. In 1979, Danny appeared as Bette MidlerвЂ™s guitarist in her film, вЂњThe RoseвЂќ, which was nominated for six Academy Awards. This legendary R&B band is perhaps best known for its funky instrumental hit вЂњApricot BrandyвЂќ, co-written by Danny and featuring one of his trademark guitar licks, often imitated but never duplicated. In 1968, he accepted the offer to join RothchildвЂ™s super group, Rhinoceros. He also caught the attention of music greats Ahmet Ertegan, Paul Rothchild, Al Kooper and David Crosby, to name but a few. While playing at famed Sunset Strip clubs like, The Whiskey A Go Go, The Galaxy and The Troubador, he quickly earned the reputation of вЂњgreat guitar playerвЂќ by his peers and many fans. This early influence was to become the foundation of DannyвЂ™s unique, funky, rhythmic playing style.Дanny joined his first band at age 13, taught guitar at 16 and by age 18 the cofounder of the 60вЂ™s group Iron Butterfly. Raised in San Diego, California in the 1950вЂ™s, Danny was taught by his dad, Johnny Weis, a well known country, jazz guitarist who performed with вЂњGrande Ole OpryвЂќ greats Johnny Cash and Tex Ritter. James is a stellar guitar player and can shout the blues with the best of them! He was the leader of the legendary Lulus house band for many years backing up countless acts to the delight of many. One of the very few Canadian members of the American Blues Hall of Fame, James has worked with over 200 music legends over the years: The Mamas and the Papas, Sam& Dave, The Platters, Johnnie Johnson, Jay Douglas and Rick James just to name a few. This will be an evening of classic blues,funk and r&b featuring some great original material from James AnthonyвЂ™s many records.

This will indeed be a very special musical event at HughвЂ™s RoomвЂ¦.2 of the greatest guitar players anywhere and CanadaвЂ™s harp virtuoso Roly Platt backed by the solid blues/r&b rhythm section of James Rasmussen and Bucky Berger.
